Karen Sheridan is a member of the Enterprise Strategic Data Services (ESDS) team within the Enterprise Data Office at The Hartford.  Karen joined ESDS in 2014 to lead Data Stewardship initiatives and support Data Quality across the enterprise.  In addition to teaching the process of naming and defining data according to business standards, Karen's current position offers a platform for documenting best practices, improving process methodology to progress data governance efforts and supporting a robust metadata program across the enterprise.  Her experience includes various positions in Marketing and Analytics as well as serving as a Domain Data Steward for the Personal Lines domain.  These positions provided exposure to best practices for data management and helped to foster a strong passion for data governance, stewardship and data quality.

Prior to this role, Sunil was the Director of Information Governance at IBM, and worked with clients across six continents and multiple industries.

Sunil is the author of several books including The IBM Data Governance Unified Process, Selling Information Governance to the Business, Big Data Governance, Data Governance Tools, The Chief Data Officer Handbook for Data Governance and The Data Governance Guide for BCBS 239 and DFAST Compliance.

Sunil has also worked at the Financial Services Strategy Consulting Practice of Booz Allen & Hamilton and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Tonya Walker is the Associate Vice President of the Finance Data Governance (FDG) team at Nationwide.  Under Tonya's leadership, the FDG team has undergone a transformation creating a renewed sense of direction which was formalized by rewriting the team's charter and reorganizing the team to align around the core functions.  Through an established framework, standards, and procedures Finance Data Governance drives consistency, comparability and standardization amongst the creation, translation, and movement of Finance data to instill confidence in the information produced.   Tonya has been a Nationwide associate for 24 years and has served as the leader of Finance Data Governance for 4 years.  Tonya holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Ashland University.

John has over 20 years’ experience working with metadata and 14 years working with specific metadata-based tools.  Before joining ASG, he was a Senior Manager of Information Architecture, Data Governance & Metadata Management at Walt Disney World in Orlando.  In addition, he led the implementation of ASG’s metadata solutions to support data governance for both business and IT organizations at Disney.  John’s skill set also includes Database Administration, data architecture, application architecture & development.  John is responsible for guiding and partnering with clients toward understanding the value of metadata and how ASG’s Enterprise Data Intelligence solution can be the mechanism toward making more efficient decisions involving regulatory compliance, impact analysis and change management.
