Aya Smith began her journey for data quality assurance nearly 20 years ago while working as a research assistant at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System when her Economist stated, “the economic model looks fine but why does the data look so odd?”  This simple question led to a variety of positions including a Financial Systems Analyst role supporting the FFIEC where she worked to identify and correct poor data quality and compliance issues and Business Analyst positions at Booz Allen Hamilton and Fannie Mae where she ensured data quality in a data warehouse environment.  She transitioned into the Data Stewardship role in July of 2015 where she continues to explore data quality assurance at an enterprise level.  After studying in Japan for nearly 10 years, Aya has degrees in Economics, Computer Science and Mathematics from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Previously, Chris worked as a Program Manager in Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) where he assisted with strategic planning and the development of an ESS roadmap.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Chris worked for 12 years providing consulting services to a variety of public sector and private sector clients.  His skills include expertise in business process reengineering, Lean Six Sigma, change management and project management.

Chris has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia, a MS in Management Information Systems from the University of Virginia and a MBA from Georgetown University.
