When Lisa Cutler-Farwig started with Schlumberger more than eighteen years ago as an offshore geophysicist, the last thing she thought she would be involved with was the Master Data Program. However, over the years, her role in the company evolved. She moved into a business segment's headquarters to support Personnel and Marketing functions at a time when an enterprise wide business intelligence tool was being implemented. This was the driver to develop and implement global business processes to capture data correctly. However, she found even when the data was captured correctly, cross-functional reporting proved difficult due to the lack of a common language across the various enterprise systems. Scott Hallworth joined Capital One 2011 as Senior Vice President and Chief Model Risk Officer overseeing the company’s models, leading its analytic research and development group, as well as the statistician and quantitative analyst community. Further, to advance data across the company, in March 2014 Scott’s role expanded to be the Enterprise Data Executive developing and leading its data strategy. He is the Technical Lead for the License Utilization and Revenue Enhancement System project at Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). This Business Intelligence and Data Quality project integrates disparate customer transaction databases across the agency into a Customer Relationship Management system. This system helps the agency analyze their interactions with each customer to better serve constituents and to better understand how those interactions generate revenue. Ultimately, this funds the agency’s ability to provide recreational opportunities for Texans and conserve the natural resources of Texas. Dr. Taylor was awarded the 2012 Employee Recognition Award for Innovation at TPWD for his efforts to advance the use of predictive and location analytics, data integration, and data quality methodologies at the agency. Chris Tyler is the Manager of Data Warehousing and Reporting Services at Illumina, Inc. Chris manages all data warehouse and reporting initiatives that support business decisions and analytic efforts. Chris also manages all data quality initiatives and has technical responsibility for the data conversion and supports the master data management team for the pending global SAP implementation. Steve Zagoudis is the President of MetaGovernance Solutions.
