Experts and the vast majority of people in data governance and data quality know that the most critical aspect of these programs is how we deal with the human side. So why not invest in a deeper understanding of the human behavioral side and the tools, techniques, and approaches that work and know where the pitfalls are and how to deal with them?

Our experience has shown that there are human behavior scenarios and factors that are specific to data governance and data quality programs and in order to succeed, we must have tools, techniques, and proven approaches for the behavioral, cultural, and human aspects that will inevitably arise.

This 2 day course provides a comprehensive toolkit, techniques, approaches and case studies for effectively managing the human side of data governance and data quality. The course will cover the major human factors within each of the major areas of data governance and data quality program, namely within setting up the program, establishing roles, gathering needs, defining data and rules, managing issues, setting up policies and procedures, and defining solutions. Within this context, the course will share how to:

  • Establish a really clear, compelling, and common vision for data governance
  • Maintain ongoing sponsorship
  • Gain the trust of people involved
  • Effectively communicate including communications plans and execution
  • Gain true involvement and commitment
  • Exemplify Leadership
  • Effectively resolving conflict.

For all the above aspects of human behavior skills and tools, there will be practical case studies sharing what has worked and not worked, there will be fun and interactive exercises where participants can practice scenarios that commonly arise in data governance and apply the techniques, tools, and principles learned in this class.
