Karen Dickinson began her career at Capital One as an MIS Analyst for the Collections & Recoveries Data Warehouse. Within a year I was one of the first Data Stewards at Capital One as the Card Data Stewardship team was created based on my role within Collections & Recoveries. I moved to the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) department supporting their new data warehouse. I expanded their data management program where I was the business lead/owner in all IT analytical and BI projects. In addition, I identified data management gaps within CRE and established and implemented their Information Data Reporting standards as well as owned/managed their Knowledge Management Repository. During this time I also consulted with other departments who were setting up their own Data Stewardship processes/programs as well as the Enterprise Data Management department assisting in consolidating Capital One's Information Data Management policy. Within the last year, I have moved to the Bank to assist in establishing the Bank Data Stewardship team. I have set up a team in a rapidly growing area and established policies and procedures within the Bank to assure consistent data management aligning with Card and the Enterprise. Bank Data Stewardship continues to grow as Capital One consolidates data from various sources in the legacy Hibernia, North Fork, and Chevy Chase environments and integrates this data into a more streamlined portfolio of sources and a single data warehouse for the Bank. In addition to managing a team of stewards staffed across the Integration projects and supporting current "Business as Usual", two of my current projects also consist of solving for affiliate sharing of credit data at the Bank and aligning our Access Management tool to allow for proper Access Security across a shared platform.
