Josh Cuozzo, Data Governance Senior Manager, The Vanguard Group, Inc. leads a team that supports Human Resources, Retail, Institutional, and Advisory Client groups. In addition to his leadership work with these domains, Josh oversees the data governance program communications, metrics and training initiatives. Josh began his career at Vanguard in 2000 working in the Retail business and then moved throughout Finance, Corporate, and Legal divisions leading process improvement, operations, and data/technology initiatives. Barbara Deemer has recently assumed the role of VP of Financial Systems and has retained her responsibilities as Chief Data Steward at Navient. In that role she leads the Data Governance Council which is comprised of representatives from all Lines of Business. Barbara has 30 years of experience in the Accounting, Finance and Servicing areas. She was the Controller of the Company from 2000 to 2003 until she took an extended leave of absence. Carrie Fawcett joined TIAA in June of 2015 and is currently responsible for the development and implementation of business-led, data governance practices and capabilities at TIAA. Mrs. Fawcett assists business area sponsors in developing proper data and process governance capabilities wherever they are required, including Tax, Corporate Services, Regulatory Reporting, and Financial management. Julie Gribben is a Consultant on the Finance Data Governance (FDG) Team at Nationwide. Anju has been instrumental in developing the company product roadmap and development calendar, and plays a senior leadership role in client management. Michele Koch is the Director of Enterprise Data Intelligence and the Data Governance Office at Navient. Michele was responsible for the successful design and implementation of the enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality Programs at Navient. Their Data Governance Program won The Data Warehouse Institute’s (TDWI) 2010 Best Practices Award for the Data Governance category and the 2011 Data Governance Best Practice Award. She is also responsible for the data modeling team who provides support to development teams and the business user community, the enterprise data warehouse team, and the business analytics team. Her 35 years of experience include applying structured analysis and design methods for process and data modeling, managing client/server and mainframe DBAs, and consulting at Fortune 500 companies. Keith Kohl is Vice President of Product Management at Trillium Software. He is focused on definition and execution of Trillium’s global product strategy for enterprise data quality solutions, encompassing both established and emerging Big Data solutions, as deployed on premise and in the cloud. Joel Lutz created and now leads Vanguard’s Enterprise Data Governance and Privacy Department, which focuses on orchestrating people, processes, and technology across Vanguard’s global operations to ensure Vanguard’s data is treated as a vital corporate asset. This includes implementing a global data governance program, a global privacy program, a global records management program, and a global governance, risk, and compliance technology platform. Joel graduated from Tulane Law School and began his legal career in private practice focusing on complex business litigation, primarily in the area of state and local taxation. In 2008, he joined The Vanguard Group’s Legal Department where he managed a team of lawyers and analysts advising on a wide range of internal clients on corporate and contract matters. Michael McKenzie has been a Data Steward under Fannie Mae's Enterprise Data Stewardship program, since January 2016. He is responsible for facilitating business adoption and execution of the program in concert with other enterprise data capabilities. Previously, Michael dedicated 12 years to managing Fannie Mae Single Family data development and production processes including business requirements, vendor management, governance, training, data quality, and ongoing improvement. Prior to Fannie Mae, he provided consulting services to primary and secondary mortgage lenders in their efforts to load, integrate and provision data; and redefine functions and processes based on mergers and acquisitions. Prior to working at Vanguard, Kirk worked in the non-profit industry for nine years as an Assistant Treasurer. David Plotkin is the Director of Metadata Services at MUFG, directing metadata activity in support of data management, including applications such as Collibra Data Governance Center. He was formerly the Data Governance Competency Center Manager for Wells Fargo, working heavily in Data Stewardship and Metadata. He was also Global Head of Data Stewardship for AIG, where he was responsible for rolling out data stewardship as part of an overall Data Governance and Data Management effort. He has previously been a consultant for EMC, working on data quality, data governance and master data management engagements at client companies. He has also previously managed Data Governance at an insurance company and managed data quality at two large banks. He has been working with data governance, data modeling, metadata and data quality for nearly 30 years.
