Eric Chacon is the Global Head of Data standards for Citi’s Chief Data Office. He has been with the CDO since its inception in 2010, and was a member of the team which developed the Global Data Roadmap, Citi’s end-to-end data management strategy, in 2009. Prior to joining the Chief Data Office, Eric ran the Business Architecture competency for Citigroup’s Architecture and Technology Engineering group (CATE), architecture and solution-design support to Citi’s business units. Eric joined Citi in 2005, from IBM’s Business Consulting Services group where he provided Technology Strategy consulting services for IBM’s clients including Citigroup, Bloomberg, S&P, and other Financial Services companies. Prior to business consulting he was an architect and developer in the telecom-datacom space, designing and developing networking devices for companies such as Siemens, Racal-Datacom, and Fujitsu. Eric has a B.S. in computer science from the University of Florida. He was a member of the Florida Army National Guard with a Military Occupational Specialty of Infantry and later, Military Intelligence (Counterintelligence). Malcolm Chisholm has over 25 years experience in data management, and has worked in a variety of sectors, including finance, insurance, manufacturing, government, defense and intelligence, pharmaceuticals, and retail. He is an independent consultant specializing in data governance, master data management, metadata engineering, business rules management/execution, data architecture and design, and the organization of Enterprise Information Management. Malcolm is a well-known presenter at conferences in the US and Europe, writes columns in trade journals, and has authored the books: Managing Reference Data in Enterprise Databases; How to Build a Business Rules Engine; and Definitions in Information Management. Stijn Christiaens is co-founder and operational director at Collibra (www.collibra.com), a Data Governance enterprise software company. As such he has a global responsability for all technical pre sales, implementation and support activities. This allows him to have a front seat view on real customer demands, issues and implementation challenges. Prior to founding the company he was a senior researcher at the Free University of Brussels STARLab, a leading semantic research center in Europe, performing application-driven research in semantics. As such, he participated actively in several international (ITEA, FP6, FP7) research projects and conferences (OTM, FIS, ESTC, ...). Stijn has also published various articles in the field of ontology engineering. Michele Koch is the Director of Enterprise Data Management and the Data Governance Office at Sallie Mae. Michele was responsible for the successful design and implementation of the enterprise Data Governance and Data Quality Programs at Sallie Mae. Their Data Governance Program won TDWI’s 2010 Best Practices Award for Data Governance and the international 2011 Data Governance Best Practice Award. Denis Kosar has been a leader in data management and data architecture for over 30 years. He has held executive positions in data architecture and data governance at Chase Manhattan Bank, Prudential Healthcare, Citigroup, SAP and now AIG. His current position is VP Data Governance at AIG where he is responsible for developing and rolling out the Data Governance across AIG and all of its affiliate companies. Previously Denis has been a Data Governance consultant where he has helped companies establish the role in a number of different industries such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Government and Entertainment. Denis is an educator and writer on data related topics. He has presented papers at numerous seminars and conferences. Dr. Geoffrey Malafsky has a PhD in Nanotechnology from The Pennsylvania State University. He was a research scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory before becoming a technology consultant in advanced system capabilities and designs for numerous Government agencies. He has over 25 years of experience and is an expert in multiple fields ranging from Nanotechnology, modeling & simulation, Knowledge Discovery & Dissemination, object-attribute data systems, and information engineering. He founded and operated the technology consulting company TECHi2 providing support for challenging problems in enterprise-scale data engineering, Knowledge Management, Enterprise Architecture, Business Intelligence, and rapid prototyping of distributed web systems. He is now CEO of software start-up company Phasic Systems Inc offering the DataStar product suite with its innovations in semantic technology, object-based data models, and high-performance web data transactions to the Government and corporate markets for enterprise-scale high-quality authoritative data. Xiu McGovern is the Data Quality Management and Governance Executive for Bank of America’s Consumer Banking division. In this role, she is responsible for data quality, metadata, lineage and data controls as well as data governance functions for the Customer, Deposits, Mortgage, Card, and Payments domains. Xiu leverages a four-pillar strategy designed to measure, mitigate, control and simplify the data environment. She executes using a risk based approach focused on key business elements and prioritized systems and applications. Her goal is to ensure the Consumer Bank meets or exceeds the enterprise data management policy and standards thus driving financial benefit, improving customer satisfaction and reducing regulatory risk. Prior to her current role, Xiu was the Analytics Operations Executive for the Customer Segments and Deposits organizations. Her responsibility was focused on optimizing the existing data environment and building new capabilities. She built business intelligence tools that promoted self-service reporting and analytics, and provided new customer and house-hold oriented views of data to facilitate strategy development. Xiu joined Bank of America in July 2007 as the Small Business Segment Analytics Executive. Prior to joining the bank, Xiu worked internationally and domestically for General Electric in the Consumer Finance and Banking division for 13 years. At GE, Xiu held various roles in Finance, Quality, Project Management, and Pricing and Product Management. Xiu graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and East Asian Studies. Arka Mukherjee, the founder and CEO of Global IDs Inc., is a well-known expert in global data management, with extensive experience in creating new technologies to assist businesses in the U.S. and around the world. Arka founded Global IDs (GIDs) in 2001. Under his leadership, the company has developed Master Data Management and Data Governance products and solutions for a myriad of Fortune 2000 companies across multiple vertical industries. Arka was the lead architect in developing GIDs semantic solutions to help companies save time and money, while also offering better data traceability to help customers reduce risk. Prior to GIDs, he was the principal of IBM Global Services where he was the practice leader in business intelligence services and was responsible for building and growing this e-business practice. Before IBM, he was a senior manager at Andersen Consulting (currently Accenture) and was a practice leader in implementing enterprise-wide technology architectures. Arka has had several papers published in trade magazines and research journals and is a regular speaker at trade shows and expositions. She has a BA in Economics from Rutgers University and an MS in Finance from George Washington University.
